Our First Post!!!

Welcome to the first post from Electricity Safety and Conservation!!!

The company was started in 1992 by Bill Coakley and his daughter Sandra continues on with his vision today. From the stories that Sandra tells about her father he was a very entertaining man who was always looking to improve and update the company and the presentations. So, we’ve updated our website and added a blog to stay current with the times. We hope that you enjoy checking in and seeing what the guys are up to, where they are traveling and other news within the company.

It’s been an exciting couple of weeks here at Electricity Safety and Conservation. The guys have been busy travelling to Niagara Falls, Ajax, Brampton, Barrie, Milton, Hamilton, Burlington, Welland, St. Catherine’s, Aurora, Ancaster, Niagara Falls, Mississauga, Vaughan, Innisfil, Penetanguishene, Richmond Hill, Guelph, Maple and Bradford. WOW that’s a lot of miles. Before I began working here I hadn’t known much about electricity safety, I would be the first one to leave my cell phone plugged in under my pillow while sleeping or dig a piece of toast out of the toaster with a knife while it was still plugged in. Boy have I ever heard a lot and it’s thanks to our three guys, Fern, Blair and Danny. Thanks to all the travelling they do kids throughout our province are given the chance to learn about the same safety tips I wish I had known about as a child. We get many feedbacks from the schools with comments about how much the presenters enjoy their job and how involved they get into the presentations, this couldn’t be more true. All three gentlemen love the work they do, getting the kids involved in the hands-on experiments and also getting the teachers involved and interested. So here’s a BIG thank you to all the schools that have us come out and to all of the utilities that provide the funding to make it happen.
